Happy New Year!

To ring in the new year, we had a poppin' good time painting with pop rocks.  I added pop rock candy to the kiddos finger paint and pop, pop, pop!

We spent a lot of time reviewing the calendar.  Our favorite way to remember the days of the week and months of the year is through fun music and movement.  The kiddos helped change the calendar from December to January and we played guess the missing number to fill in the days.  

We read "Squirrel's New Year's Resolution" by Pat Miller.  It is a delightful book about a squirrel and his search to make a resolution.  The kiddos caught on quickly and came up with some great resolutions.

SO resolves to tickle people more.

TL resolves to have more fun.

PW resolves to play with his sister nicely.

JO resolves to help others when they are in trouble.

AD resolves to help take care of others when they are hurt or sick.

TJ resolves to spend more time with her family eating food.

MS resolves to give to others who don't have as much.

JK resolves to play games with her brother.
