Spectacular Science

Science is a daily event in our K4 classroom.  Here are several highlights from our February, March and April lessons.

During Dental Health month, we did an experiment.  First we soaked eggs in red soda, coke, and tea.  We left one egg out for our control.

This is what the eggs looked like after soaking over night.

The kiddos made toothpaste and tried to brush the stains off.  They soon discovered that no amount of brushing would remove the stains.  What a valuable lesson!

Our March Science unit was Force and Motion.

We Used Pulleys

Explored Magnets

Played with Ramps and Tunnels to Explore Gravity

And We Investigated Push and Pull through Car Art

Back by popular demand, we did pop rock painting.  I was so proud that some of the kiddos were able to make a connection between our fizzing candy canes and the popping candy.

We explored seeds, flowers and worms in April.

I will be getting some tadpoles for our Pond Life study this week.  May will finish up with zoo animals and insects.
